Brunswick Business Journal Staff Report

March 13, 2014 – The owners of Wild Adventures Theme Park in Valdosta have announced new investments in the property and programs for the 2014 season that opens Sat., March 15, including new animals, shows and a “star-filled concert lineup”.

Among the new additions is a 3,000 square-foot walk-through butterfly attraction. Guests visiting the new Butterfly Garden will be greeted by 400 pairs of delicate wings as butterflies join more than 350 animals who currently call Wild Adventures home. The new attraction allows guests to see Monarch and Painted Lady butterflies feeding and fluttering about more than 100 butterfly-attracting plants and vines. Guests will have the opportunity to feed the butterflies themselves with supplied nectar sticks. Arbors, a fountain and a shady spot to relax make it a perfect addition to the park.

Guests will also get to explore the park on the new “Find Our Hearts” Scavenger Hunt. Visitors can play all season long, searching out clues for a chance to win monthly prizes. One lucky family will win the Grand Prize at the end of the season, four Gold Season Passes to Wild Adventures for the next five years! The clues will change throughout the season so guests are invited to play every time they visit for more chances to win.

All forty rides are back this year at Wild Adventures, including seven roller coasters and the newest rides, Tailspin and Wacky Wheels.

The concert line-up includes a platinum selling American Idol winner, a trio of country legends and a nine time GRAMMY® award-winning gospel artist. And, among the performers are three with local roots, recent American Idol winner and Leesburg native Phillip Phillips and Valdosta born Rhett Akins with his country chart topping son Thomas Rhett.
