October 1, 2017 – Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle (R) has announced his team of campaign staff, including the leadership campaign advisers.
Scott Blinkley has been named Campaign Manager Scott Binkley. Most recently, he has served as Executive Director of the Republican Lieutenant Governors Association and has also worked with the Republican Governors Association. In began his Georgia political career on the state of former Congressman Tom Price.
Brian Robinson will serve as Communications Director, along with Joseph Hendricks. Both have worked in Gov. Nathan Deal’s communications office.
Ian Caraway, most recently the political director for Karen Handel in her successful congressional run, will serve as Field Director. Samantha Sheldon, will serve as Deputy Field Director, also from the Handel campaign team.
Fundraising will be overseen by Rebecca Cummiskey, working with Taylor Cheek.
DeAnna McDuffie will serve as the Director of Operations. She has worked with both the Georgia House Majority Caucus Office, and Troutman Sanders Strategies, one of Georgia’s most influential lobbying firms.
The Cagle campaign also states that his Advisory Team will be led by Charles Tarbutton, serving as Campaign Chairman, along with Mitch Hunter who will serve as a strategic adviser.
And the AJC reports that nationally recognized pollster John McLaughlin “will continue to serve as Cagle’s pollster.”
And, Atty. Anne Lewis will serve as the campaign’s legal counsel.
