June 18 - South Coast Bank to Host Grand Opening on Newcastle Street with Ribbon Cutting June 27

June 18, 2013 – It’s a positive sign for business growth in downtown Brunswick with the move and investment of South Coast Bank & Trust to Newcastle Street in Brunswick, GA. 

Bank president Join Al McKinnon and his staff will welcome the public at a grand opening event at their newest location in Glynn County at 1500 Newcastle Street, Brunswick, GA 31520 on June 27 from 5:30 PM - 5:30 PM.  The event is open to the public.

The Brunswick-Golden Isles Chamber of Commerce has also relocated to the same address, leasing the second floor of the building. 

WB&T Bankshares is the holding company for South Coast Bank & Trust, headquartered in Waycross, GA.  South Coast Bank & Trust is the trade name for company’s expansion to the Coastal Georgia community operating as a division of Waycross Bank & Trust, though the bank’s goal is to create a separate state charter in the near future.

The bank’s management team has over 100 years of combined banking experience in the Glynn County market, according to the WB&T Bankshares, and will now have four locations in the Brunswick, Glynn County market.

Mr. McKinnon is President of South Coast Bank & Trust, with 29 years of banking include managing operations; commercial and business lending and de novo start-ups in the Glynn County market.  He currently is serving on the board at The College of Coastal Georgia Foundation, Brunswick Country Club and is past president of the Brunswick Rotary Club.

He is an active member of Wesley United Methodist Church where he serves as treasurer. He has also been actively involved with YWCA Foundation, the Chamber of Commerce and Golden Isles Christian Business Association.
